Comparing William Blakes The Tyger and The Lamb Essay -- The Tyger Th
Comparing William Blakes The Tyger and The lambWilliam Blake is referred to as many things, including poet, engraver, painter and mystic, however he is probably intimately noteworthy for his poetry.Blake began writing the metrical compositions below in about 1790 whilst living inLambeth, London. His poetry has a wide range of styles but his mostfamous poems be those from Songs of honour and Song ofExperience. The two sets of poems are knowing to show dissimilarstates or ways of seeing. They are Blakes way of representing thedifferent ways in which people actually experience the world. InSongs of honor the language is simple and repetitive, the linesare kept short and the rhymes are obvious. A childlike vision isconveyed through Blakes clever use of voices with their varyingperspectives and questions. The poems state particular states ofbeing and ways of seeing which the author is not give tongue to are the wholetruth. The poems have a joyful quality but they contain a subt leawareness of sorrow. Songs of Experience contrasts strongly with the womanishness of Songs of Innocence. These poems show how horrible andcruel the world really is infra the surface of what we see.Blake has many themes represented in his poems from Song of Experienceand Songs of Innocence but they mainly centre on his childhood, theaspects of rural and urban tone, his quetch against the horrible wayof life and a strong disliking to the way the church building building was run. Thesepoints will be discussed in the next poem analyses. The Tyger and The Lamb are often 2 poems paired together and I thinkthat was Blakes intention, for standard line 20 of The Tyger it says Did he who made the Lamb make thee?So these will be the first t... ...oem. There are many vulgarwords such as cold used to describe the church as it is but when hedescribes what he wants it to be the feeling of the poem becomeswarmer, like that of a poem in Song of Innocence. From these poems I believed that what Blake heart and soul by Innocence isthat of a simple life where you dont know about the troubles aroundyou and blissfully go along with life as it hits you.And from this, Experience is what life is really life, itconcentrates on the negative sides of things and shows that at that place isalways an improvement to be made.I personally find Blakes poems sooner intriguing. At first when you look atone of two poems it is problematical to understand the ideas that blake putsforward but after many poem analyses it becomes overt of thedifference between Innocence and Experience. Blake must have been a very conscious man.
